The US government: outrageous civil liberties of 2006

Apart from executing Saddam Hussein and hence, letting his former friends run scot free, here‘s a list of the 10 biggest violations against civil liberties that have been committed in 2006, according to Slate. Among them are the following mentionables:

  • Guantánamo Bay
  • Congressional threats to appoint an inspector general to oversee federal judges
  • The FBI’s TALON database shows the government has been spying on nonterrorist groups
  • This government program has us FedEx-ing unindicted terror suspects abroad for interrogation/torture
  • Attempt to Get Death Penalty for Zacarias Moussaoui
